What is this project? What are you trying to accomplish?
This project which I decided to do after taking part in Day of Silence in April of 2004, is just me...it's not endorsed by the Day of Silence creators or anyone affiliated with them. I'm doing this because I want to get this message out. I've joined numerous webrings, Straight But Not Narrow, argued on messageboards and ranted on my site. I decided I wanted something bigger...something bigger than just me. There is the same amount of abuse and judgment online as there is offline, why not do something to help make it better?

On April 13th, 2005, I want 500 websites, my goal number for next year, to put up an intro page sort of like the one I put up on my site (example) on April 21st, 2004 for Day of Silence. Why do it for a webpage? Well, you speak online just the same as you do offline. My silence only stretched from when I woke up to 6pm, when we ended our silence together on campus. Next year, I hope to go all day. I didn't blog, nor did I post my words anywhere online. I didn't respond to e-mail. I was silent online as well as offline.

How can I take part?
Taking part in this project is easy right now. All you have to do is fill out the form at the bottom of the page. You can put up a banner or not; you don't have to link here to take part, but it would be nice to spread the word so our numbers are higher and our message reaches more. On April 10th, 2005 you will receive an e-mail reminding you of your commitment to place up the introduction page with the Day of Silence message on it, with directions and templates to use. You can follow through or ignore the letter and opt out if you've suddenly lost interest, but I hope it doesn't come to that.
